In the spring of 2019, I studied at NC State’s satellite campus in Morehead City, NC- The Center for Marine Science and Technology (CMAST). On our first night at CMAST, a flotilla of cold-stunned sea turtles came ashore. I assisted in their assessment and preparation for transport to the nearest sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation center. Throughout my internship at CMAST, I had the opportunity to regularly monitor the progress of these turtles, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in marine animal rehabilitation.
